Sangulí has been awarded the prize for "Best innovative and creative project contributing to sustainable tourism development" for its commitment to sustainability and the implementation of pioneering initiatives in the sector.
Between 2017 and 2024, Sangulí has invested over 6 million euros in sustainability and environmental awareness projects, achieving a direct impact on the well-being of its clients, its human team, and the sustainability of its business operations. Some of the most notable actions include:
-
The installation of 2,730 m² of photovoltaic and thermal solar panels to generate energy and supply hot water at various points of the Camping & Resort. The most recent installation is located on the roof of the new restrooms 4, with 440 m² of solar panels that generate an approximate annual saving of 60,000 kg of CO₂.
-
The installation of 6 smart recycling containers for packaging that reward users who recycle. Through a mobile app, any camper can accumulate points by recycling plastic bottles, cans, and cartons, which can be exchanged for rewards.
-
The construction of facilities with wood sourced from certified sustainable forests. The wood used for the construction of restrooms 4 and the Mediterranean accommodations, inaugurated in 2022, comes from sustainable forests that hold FSC and PEFC certifications, ensuring responsible forest management.
With these initiatives, Sangulí is advancing towards a more responsible tourism model and consolidating itself as a benchmark for innovation and sustainability, adding value to the territory as well as to its visitors and communities.
The award ceremony was held yesterday, November 27th, at the L'Artesana Theater in Falset, as part of a new edition of SOM TURISME from the Costa Dorada and the Terres de l'Ebre, organized by the Patronat de Turisme de la Diputació de Tarragona.
